Our missions
Lead an international academic and industrial network
Identify and synthesize emerging ideas
Take a new, forward look at future changes
The Foncsi identifies and synthesizes emerging ideas on risks, human and organizational factors (HOF) and industrial safety governance. It challenges current ideas and brings a new perspective that sheds light on foreseeable developments over the next 5–10 years.
The new knowledge that is gained from its work, and the transfer of its results to industry means that the Foncsi can improve industrial safety in ways that benefit all its stakeholders: administrations, associations, local authorities, researchers, companies, trade unions, etc.
How we work
The Foncsi relies on three research methods, strategic analyses, working groups and industrial pilots; and the two international research networks that it supports, NeTWork and Saf€ra.

Strategic analyses
The outcome of a new, proprietary methodology, strategic analyses aim to ensure high-level international research over a very short period of time – around 2 years – and establish a continuum of innovation between research and industry.

Working groups
Literature analysis, expert testimony... working groups enable us to gather and share information on practices and challenges on a given theme over the course of 1 year.

Industrial pilots
Research is transferred to the field by setting up pilots with Icsi, to help industrialists take ownership of the outcomes of our research.

The NeTWork
The Foncsi supports the international scientific NetWork, which brings together the world’s leading specialists in the study of organizations at risk of a major accident.

The European Saf€ra consortium
The Foncsi is a member of the European industrial safety research consortium Saf€ra.
« Foncsi 4 »
